Floor Mat Safety
Use of Floor Mats | Download Full PDF here |
NutriSkill giant anti-slip floor mats, featuring ‘The Happy Face of a Balanced Diet®’ food group model, have been developed with safety in mind
We STRONGLY recommend that no vinyl or fabric type mats are used on the floor for safety reasons, including slip and trip hazards. No responsibility will be taken if any physical activities suggested in The NutriSkill Healthy Eating Programme of Learning, take place on mats other than that supplied for this purpose by Tailored Learning Resources Ltd
For safety reasons, floor mats should not be used on uneven, unstable, wet or loose surfaces
If food cards are placed on floor mats, it is not recommended that users then walk on them, due to the risk of slipping
To avoid slip hazard, it is not recommended that actual foods are used with floor mats. We suggest the use of NutriSkill wipe-clean desktop mats for this purpose
Creases formed in mats which have been stored folded rather than rolled may result in trip hazard. (Additionally in the case of vinyl mats, these creases may result in slip hazard from movement of the mat. NutriSkill floor mats have rubber to the reverse to prevent such movement)
Care should be taken to ensure floor mats are secure before use and users should be made aware of any creases or lifting to the edges from storage
Ensure the reverse of floor mats are regularly checked and cleaned to prevent slipping due to a build up of dust, or dirt in the case of mats which have been used outside
NutriSkill floor mats can be washed at 60 degrees and dried on medium heat in a domestic or laundrette machine. Please follow weight guidance of machine in relation to the size and therefore weight of the mat. Tailored Learning Resources Ltd will accept no liability if due care is not taken to follow these instructions carefully
Tailored Learning Resources Ltd will accept no responsibility for personal injury, or damage to equipment or other structures, as a result of using NutriSkill mats in any other way than that intended
Should government guidelines change in the future in such a way as to make ‘The Happy Face of a Balanced Diet’ design or colours inaccurate, Tailored Learning Resources Ltd accept no liability for mats already in use. It should be noted that government guidelines remained constant for about a decade, before being updated in September 2007
‘NutriSkill’ and ‘The Happy Face of a Balanced Diet’ are registered trademarks, along with the face model which is also a registered design |
